Your Miracle Requires Movement
Scripture References
Overview
Some miracles only activate when we move toward Jesus. Using the bleeding woman of Mark 5, the message shows that “pressing” is often the doorway to breakthrough. Pain, disappointment, religion, people—even our own weariness—all try to pin us down, but blessing lies on the other side of movement toward Christ.
“There’s a blessing in the pressing.”
Main Points
Motion-Activated Faith
- Rest-room motion sensors (soap, water, towels, even lights) illustrate how certain results appear only when something moves.
- Likewise, some divine interventions are “motion-activated”; God meets us as we take steps of faith.
The Mark 5 Pattern: Move, Press, Touch
- The woman had bled 12 years, spent all her money, and only grew worse.
- She didn’t wait for Jesus to find her; she forced her way through the crowd and touched His cloak.
- Immediate healing followed her movement.
“Your miracle is on the other side of your movement.”
Press Past Pain
- Pain is universal and can paralyze or propel.
- Story: After the speaker’s father was diagnosed with stage-4 cancer (Nov 16, 2022) and later died (Nov 26), he battled grief, sickness, and depression. Daily prayer, Scripture, and worship eventually broke the heaviness.
- Let pain drive you toward, not away from, Jesus—He is always the answer.
Press Past Disappointment
- The woman faced repeated medical failures and financial ruin—prime conditions for hopelessness.
- Disappointment over prodigal children, broken engagements, poor grades, unanswered prayers, etc., tempts believers to quit.
- Keep pursuing Jesus; miracles often follow prolonged disappointment.
Press Past Religion
- Mosaic law labeled the woman “unclean,” barring her from public contact.
- Religion says, “Clean up first”; Jesus says, “Come messed up.”
- Story: In high-school locker room, lured by free pizza, the speaker heard a simple gospel talk and surrendered to Christ despite addiction and sin—proof that grace meets us in our mess.
Press Past People
- Crowds likely scolded the woman: “Gertrude, don’t touch me!”
- Negative influences: some friends keep you stuck; join a Life Group and surround yourself with godly voices.
- Doubters: voices insisting, “Nothing will change—stop praying.”
- Haters: social-media critics or even family members can paralyze progress. Ignore the noise and keep moving toward Jesus.
Press Past Yourself
- Long waits breed fatigue and self-doubt.
- Life verse: Galatians 6:9—don’t grow weary; harvest comes “in due season.”
- Continue praying, serving, giving, gathering, and worshiping even when feelings lag. Persistence positions you for the miracle.
Key Truths
- Movement toward Jesus often precedes miraculous change.
- Pain and disappointment do not cancel God’s power; they can fuel pursuit.
- Religion demands perfection; Jesus welcomes broken people.
- The company you keep can accelerate or arrest your spiritual progress.
- Weariness is real, but endurance in well-doing guarantees a harvest “at the proper time.”
Response
- Choose movement: take one concrete step toward Jesus today.
- Let pain push you to prayer, worship, and Scripture instead of withdrawal.
- Replace negative circles with faith-filled community.
- Silence doubters and haters by focusing on Christ’s voice.
- Keep practicing the disciplines of giving, serving, and gathering even when results seem delayed.
Closing
Miracles still happen, but they meet movers, not bystanders. Press through pain, disappointment, religion, people, and even your own fatigue until you touch Jesus.
“Keep pressing—your miracle is on the other side of your movement.”
Prayer
The speaker thanked God for His word, asked Him to strengthen listeners to keep pressing through trials, and prayed that faith, tenacity, and resolve would rise in every heart. He then led those surrendering to Christ in a simple prayer of repentance, confession of Jesus as Lord, and commitment to live for Him.
