At the Movies — Week 3 Field Notes

Opening Moments

• Setting: Pulled up in his golf cart, ten-year attender now serving guests.
• Origin story: “We started coming during At the Movies… just driving along, saw the sign, and said, ‘Hey, let’s give it a try.’”
• Impact: Came once and “never left.” Joy glows from him and his daughter as they ferry newcomers toward the lobby.

• Eyes wide at the volunteer effort: “Thousands and thousands of hours… to transform them into experiences for people to come in and have a lot of fun.”
